Operatives of the Edo State Police Command have arrested a student identified as Bright Ikheile over alleged murder of his girlfriend in South Ibie, Etsako West Local Government Area of the state.
It was gathered that the deceased visited the suspect at home and after taking the soft drink and biscuits offered to her by the suspect, she fell sick and was rushed to the hospital where she died.
When contacted, the Police Public Relations Officer, SP Chidi Nwabuzor confirmed the incident.
He said that the suspect was arrested following a report from the brother of the decease that his sister had died after visiting her boyfriend.
“Operative of South Ibe police division on June 18 received a report that one Peter Orighiator, that his sister Success Obayyuwana, student of higher institutions in Edo state visited her boyfriend Bright Ikheile, who offered her soft drink and biscuit.
“After eating the biscuit and soft drink, she became sick and was rush to the hospital where she gave up the ghost”.
SP Nwabuzor added that the corpse has been deposited at the morgue for autopsy and investigation is ongoing while the suspect is currently in police custody.
