Executive Chairman of Apapa Local Government, Hon. Idowu Adejumoke Senbanjo has flagged off a weeklong environmental sanitation exercise tagged “Clean Up Apapa Project”
Senbanjo who was supported by the Port Manager of Lagos Port Complete, Mr Lawal Ibrahim, commended the large turnout of residents, business owners and government agencies for the exercise
The Local Government Chairman who urged everyone to do the clean up in their various streets reminded them that the exercise is in line with state government directive
She called for continuous teamwork and reminded everyone to always keep Apapa clean during and beyond the one week event
Mr. Lawal,the Port Manager who joined the Chairman in the first clean up of drainages along Eleganza roundabout advised port users to imbibe hygienic behaviours and avoid throwing waste indiscriminately to avoid blockage of the gutters
The awareness train is moving to Ijora ,Liverpool, Queens Barrack and returning to Apapa proper to close the opening phase of the exercise
