New AIG Zone 5 Assumes Duty in Benin

AIG Arungwa Nwazue Udo has assumed duty as the new Assistant Inspector-General of Police Zone 5 headquarters Benin, which comprises of Edo and Delta States.

According to a statement signed by the Zonal Police Public Relations officer, DSP Tijani Momoh, AIG Arungwa Udo hails from Abia State and was born on May 7, 1965.

He has a Bachelor of Arts in Philosophy from Ekiti State University, Higher National Diploma Certificate in Information Technology from University of Mumbai, India, and a Diploma Certificate in Law from Pan African Institute of Paralegal Studies, Abuja.

AIG Udo was formally the Commissioner of Police, Admin, Force Intelligence Bureau, before his promotion to the Assistant Inspector-General of Police and deployment to AIG Zone 5 Benin.


The statement quoted Udo as soliciting for the cooperation and support of Edo people to assist the Police with useful and timely information that will enhance in checkmating crimes and criminalities in the state.

It would be recalled that, the former AIG Lawan Jiweta had died on February 12, 2023, after a brief illness.
