To provide assistance to the less privileged in need of healthcare and to strengthen collaboration with the community, the Nigerian Navy Ship (NNS) BEECROFT, has conducted a Medical Rhapsody which featured free blood sugar tests, free medications, and free consultations in the Majidun community, Ikorodu West Local Government Area, Lagos State on Tuesday 18 March, 2025.
According to the NNS BEECROFT Base Information Officer, Hussaini Ibrahim who disclosed this in a press release, the Chief of Defence Civil-Military Relations (CDCMR), OA Bankole, who was the Special Guest of Honour, explained that the exercise was in line with the command philosophy and directive of the Chief of Defence Staff, General CG Musa, to conduct free medical outreach programs across the 8 Theatres of Operations in the country.
He added that the purpose of the exercise was to assist the less privileged, especially pregnant women, nursing mothers, and children, by providing free medical services to foster a cordial relationship between military personnel and the community.
Bankole urged the people of the Majidun Community to take advantage of the opportunity provided by NNS BEECROFT. He further encouraged them to provide personnel of Operation AWATSE with credible information on any suspicious activities of criminals to enable prompt response and possible arrests.
On his part, the Executive Chairman of Ikorodu West, Honourable Sulaimon Kazeem Olanrewaju, appreciated the efforts of NNS BEECROFT in providing free medical services to his people. He assured the Chief of Defence Civil-Military Relations of his continuous support, as well as that of the Majidun community, for the protection of lives and property in Ikorodu.
