Chief of Naval Engineering Visits FOC Eastern Naval Command to Enhance Efficiency, Optimise Resources

In a significant move to bolster the Nigerian Navy’s prowess, The Chief of Naval Engineering, Rear Admiral Baratuaipri Iyalla, has paid a courtesy visit to the Flag Officer Commanding Eastern Naval Command,Rear Admiral Saheed Adeshina Akinwande, today Friday 25 April 2025.

This high-level meeting served as a catalyst for exploring innovative opportunities to augment the Navy’s financial and operational capacities. The Flag Officer Commanding Eastern Naval Command underscored pivotal areas ripe for development, while the Chief of Naval Engineering emphasized the need for diversifying funding sources, including commercial initiatives, to drive impactful projects.

Admiral Iyalla’s visit was aimed at updating the Naval Engineering Branch’s requirements to reflect current realities; maximize available funds, explore alternative funding sources, and do more with what is available.

It was also geared towards improving the efficiency and resource utilization by refining processes, procedures, systems, and standards while prioritising training and welfare initiatives for officers and men.
