Senator Wasiu Eshilokun Sanni Bags AMJON Lifetime Achievement Award

The Association of Maritime Journalists of Nigeria (AMJON) has announced that Senator Wasiu Eshilokun Sanni, Chairman of the Senate Committee on Marine Transport, will be honoured with the AMJON Lifetime Achievement Award for Legislative Excellence and Selflessness.

The prestigious award celebrates Senator Sanni’s remarkable contributions to legislative oversight, maritime development, and community empowerment—fields where his influence has been both impactful and enduring.

With a distinguished public service career spanning more than two decades, Senator Sanni has earned a reputation for integrity, leadership, and dedication to national development. His record of service includes:

  • Two-term Executive Chairman of Lagos Island Local Government Area
  • Three-term Member of the Lagos State House of Assembly representing Lagos Island Constituency
  • Two-term Deputy Speaker of the Lagos State House of Assembly
  • Currently, Senator representing Lagos Central Senatorial District in the 10th National Assembly

Through his legislative initiatives and advocacy, Senator Sanni has advanced policies promoting growth in Nigeria’s maritime sector and enhanced community-oriented governance.
