Comptroller Ben Oramalugo, the Custom Area Controller Oyo/Osun Command has promised the Olubadan of Ibadan land, Oba Moshood Olalekan Ishola that he will make sure that the Nigerian Customs Values will be sustained during his tenure.
The Customs Area Comptroller made this known during his first courtesy visit to Olubadan of Ibadan while on tour to Oyo/Osun state on 10th October, 2023.
Ben Oramalugo said the core mandates of the Nigeria Customs Service are Trade Facilitation, Revenue Generation and suppression of smuggling.
He however requested for cooperation and a peaceful working environment for his officers to perform their duties as it would bring about elimination of any form of conflict between citizens of the state and officers and Men of the service working within the state.
The Customs Area Comptroller appreciated Oba Moshood Olalekan for the opportunity he was given to visit his palace.He extended the greetings of the Acting Comptroller General of Customs, Bashir Adewale Adeniyi to His Imperial Majesty while he gave a brief history of Yoruba land .
In his response , Oba Moshood Olalekan explained that he runs an open door policy.He assured the Area Comptroller of further cooperation with the command.
His Imperial Majesty made references to incidents that had happened in the past between the Nigeria Customs Service and the citizens of Oyo state, as he reiterated that he is a man that has always preached peace and would appreciate if conflicts between the officers and men of the service and citizens of the state are completely eliminated.
The Olubadan of Ibadan stated that there is an already existing relationship between the palace and the Customs Command within the state, as he assured the Customs Area Controller of further collaboration.
His Imperial Majesty prayed for a successful tour of duty for Oramalugo and thanked him for paying his first courtesy visit to his palace.
