Skyway Aviation Handling Company Plc (SAHCO) has secured a ground handling contract from Air Algérie to provide services for the airline’s operations at the Murtala Muhammed International Airport, Lagos, and the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport, Abuja.
The Head of Corporate Communications at SAHCO, Adetola Vanessa Uansohia, disclosed this in a statement, noting that the contract reflects the confidence international airlines continue to place in the company’s operational capabilities and service delivery.
Under the agreement, SAHCO will provide comprehensive ground handling services to the Algerian airline at both airports, using its trained workforce, modern ground support equipment and operational expertise to ensure safe and efficient operations.
The company’s Chairman, Barr. Taiwo Afolabi, described the partnership as a demonstration of SAHCO’s growing reputation for operational excellence and reliable service delivery.
“We are delighted that Air Algérie has chosen SAHCO as its ground handling partner in Lagos and Abuja. This confidence reflects our unwavering commitment to safety, operational efficiency and service excellence,” Afolabi said.
He added that the company remained committed to providing efficient ground handling solutions that meet its airline partners’ expectations and contribute to an improved passenger experience.
The contract further expands SAHCO’s portfolio of international airline clients and strengthens its presence in Nigeria’s aviation ground handling market.
According to the company, its nationwide operational network, which covers all commercially operated airports in Nigeria, gives it an advantage in delivering consistent services to domestic and international airlines.
SAHCO also attributed its capacity to meet the changing needs of airline operators to continued investments in modern ground support equipment, technology and workforce development.
The company said its equipment strategy incorporates alternative power sources and environmentally conscious solutions as part of efforts to promote more sustainable aviation operations.
It added that safety remained central to its operations, citing its certifications, including ISAGO, RA3, ISO 9001, SON and ISO 27001, as evidence of its commitment to quality management, operational security and international aviation standards.
