His colleague, Chief Superintendent of Customs Nuruddeen Sa’idu, emerged as the Second Best Graduating Student, completing a remarkable outing for the NCS Public Relations Unit.

IMG 20260627 WA0247Reacting to the achievement, the National Public Relations Officer of the NCS, Deputy Comptroller Abdullahi Aliyu Maiwada, described the feat as a proud moment for the PR Unit and the Service as a whole.

According to him, the officers’ outstanding performance reflects the professionalism, intellectual capacity, and dedication that define the Public Relations Unit.

“They did not just complete one of the Service’s most demanding professional training programmes; they excelled, demonstrating that public relations extends beyond image management to strategic leadership and administrative excellence,” Maiwada stated.

He noted that, based on the tradition of the College, the two award-winning officers may be retained as Directing Staff to mentor future participants, similar to Assistant Comptroller Benjamin Lomba, who was retained after his exceptional performance in Senior Course 13.

While expressing pride in their achievements, Maiwada admitted that their likely departure from the PR Unit would leave a significant gap due to their exceptional competence and contributions.

He congratulated both officers and wished them success in the next phase of their careers, expressing confidence that they would continue to make meaningful contributions to the Nigeria Customs Service through leadership and mentorship.

The graduation ceremony, held at the Ahmed Makarfi Hall of the Command and Staff College, featured the graduation of 50 senior officers who successfully completed the rigorous Senior Course 14 programme.
