Air Peace has announced a temporary disruption to its scheduled Lagos-London Gatwick service after a routine technical check detected a minor aircraft fault shortly after passenger boarding.
The airline said the issue was identified during a post-boarding inspection, prompting the aircraft to be withdrawn from service in line with safety procedures and international aviation standards.
According to the airline, all passengers were safely disembarked while engineers attended to the fault.
Air Peace stressed that passenger safety and crew wellbeing remain its top priority, noting that the decision to suspend the flight was necessary despite the inconvenience caused to travellers.
The airline further disclosed that affected passengers were immediately informed of the development and provided with support, including hotel accommodation and other necessary assistance.
To reduce further disruption, the airline said a replacement aircraft would be dispatched from London, with passengers expected to depart later this morning.The airline reaffirmed its commitment to safe and reliable operations.
