The Nigeria Civil Aviation Authority is set to officially launch its Drone (RPAS/UAS) Portal at the 6th Africa International Drone Technology Conference and Exhibition (DroneTeX 2026) scheduled to hold from May 12 to 16, 2026, at the NIGAV Expo Centre, Murtala Muhammed International Airport, Lagos.
The NCAA Director , Public Affairs and Consumer Protection, Michael Achimugu who made this known in a press release said the launch marks a significant step in Nigeria’s efforts to strengthen the regulation of drone operations, promote safety, and support the rapid growth of the drone industry across the country.
According to him , the newly developed portal is designed to simplify critical processes such as drone registration, operator certification, incident reporting, ownership transfers, and compliance management for individuals, small businesses, and commercial operators.
Achimugu explained that the digital platform consolidates the entire application and approval process into a single interface, enabling operators to submit required documents, upload safety case files, and monitor application status in real time in compliance with the Nigeria Civil Aviation Regulations (Nig. CARs Part 21).
He also encouraged prospective users, stakeholders, operators, and drone service providers to explore the platform ahead of its formal rollout and participate in the launch event during DroneTeX 2026, where live demonstrations and practical guidance would be provided.
