Customs Medical Team Trains Oyo/Osun Officers on First Aid 

The Medical Team of the Nigeria Customs Service has conducted an intensive First Aid training for Officers and Men of the Oyo/Osun Area Command.

The Command’s Public Relations Officer, Abdulmalik Abiodun Akintola who disclosed this in a press release said the exercise took place at the Command’s Operational Headquarters in Ibadan on , 20th November, 2025.

The First Aid training is part of ongoing efforts by the Nigeria Customs Service to enhance the welfare, health consciousness, and operational readiness of its Officers and Men across all formations.

The team which was led by Comptroller Lafiya Saadatu Baba was warmly received by Deputy Comptroller of Customs Kayode Elijah who represented the Customs Area Controller. He commended the initiative of the Comptroller-General of Customs Bashir Adewale Adeniyi ,the Management Team, and the Medical Unit for prioritising the health and safety of personnel.

He noted that the training underscores the Service’s commitment to equipping its workforce with essential life-saving skills required during operational engagements.

Deputy Comptroller Elijah assured the Medical Team that Officers and Men of the Command would put the newly acquired knowledge to effective use. He encouraged participants to remain safety-conscious, look out for one another, and apply first aid principles where necessary while carrying out their duties.

In her remarks, the leader of the Medical Team, Comptroller Baba expressed appreciation for the Command’s cooperation and enthusiasm throughout the training session. She emphasised the importance of continuous learning and urged Officers and Men to familiarize themselves with critical first aid procedures, including Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) and other emergency response techniques.

She noted that such capacity-building initiatives are vital in ensuring that personnel are adequately prepared to manage emergencies before professional medical attention is accessed.
