
The Port Manager of Kaduna Inland Dry Port(KIDP), Alhaji Salami Razaq, has restated the company’s commitment to excellent delivery to importers and exporters in and around the Kaduna area by always bringing quality maritime services to their doorsteps.
Razaq who stated this recently when he received Comptroller Sa’ad Hassan, Customs Area Controller of Kaduna , reassured that KIDP being Nigeria’s first dry port and one of the designated facility for Domestic Export Warehouse (DEW) by the Nigerian Export Promotion Council (NEPC) would always support federal government economic diversification agenda
According to Razaq, who conducted the Customs Controller and his team around the KIDP facility showing cargo handling equipment, storage areas and office spaces for government agencies, the dry port has built cordial partnerships with government and private sector stakeholders and anticipates resumption of rail services for cargo movement soon.
The Port Manager also commended Deputy Comptroller in charge of the terminal for his leadership role and support towards trade facilitation in the port
While commending the Controller and his entourage for the visit Razaq also stressed the need for the training of Customs licensed agents on documentation procedures via the Unified Customs Management System (UCMS) also known as B’Odogwu platform,
Speaking during the visit, Comptroller Hassan, reiterated the service’s commitment to strengthening collaboration with terminal operators to enhance trade facilitation and revenue generation.

He commended KIDP for it’s readiness and commitment to trade while promising to build on the existing cordial relationship between the Nigeria Customs and KIDP
The Controller was accompanied by the Director of Legal Services, Deputy Comptroller in charge of KIDP, acting Deputy Comptroller of Excise, acting Deputy Comptroller of Revenue, Assistant Comptroller of Valuation, Team Leaders from the Customs Intelligence Unit, and other senior officers.
During the visit, Hassan emphasised the need for teamwork, professionalism, and collaboration with stakeholders in line with the vision of the Comptroller-General of Customs, Bashir Adeniyi.
He said effective cooperation between Customs and terminal operators would boost compliance, facilitate trade, and sustain revenue growth through operational synergy.
Noted for being the leading dry port in West and Central Africa, KIDP has over the years been repositioned to support local and foreign businesses with it’s array of qualified manpower and cutting edge technology for port terminal operation
