Ahead of the close of year 2025, the Nigeria Customs Service has met it’s 2024 revenue target with the collection of 5,079,455,088,194.38k as at Tuesday November 12, 2024.
Bashir Adewale Adeniyi, Comptroller General of Customs disclosed this on Wednesday at the ongoing Comptroller General of Customs Conference in Abuja expressing optimism in the service capacity to achieve more for the economy
Speaking on the trade facilitation strides of the service, Adeniyi said 6 beneficiaries of the Authorised Economic Operators (AEO) programme have been carefully selected.
He added that 21 requests have been processed under advance ruling programme aimed at fostering quicker customs decision making on import and export cargoes ahead of their arrival at the ports
The Comptroller General also said the service time release study has prigressed the drive towards 24 hour cargo clearance and reduced dwell time at the ports.
Adeniyi lauded the service Operation Whirlwind a joint initiative with the guidance of Office of the National Security Adviser (ONSA) and the support of Nigerian Midstream abd Downstream Petroleum Regulatory Agency (NMDPRA) to suppress fuel smuggling
