Human Rights Advocacy Group Launches All Citizens Have Equal Rights in Nigeria


Guard Time Information, a human rights advocacy group, has launched a new initiative called All Citizens Have Equal Rights Organization.

Guard Time Information’s Human Rights Advocacy Team, comprising barristers and activists from Nigeria’s six geopolitical zones, has pledged to combat injustice, corruption, and human rights abuses, including violence against women and children from persons, government, militarys/para-military and has urged victims to report such incidents for prompt action.

At the launch, the group emphasised that tribalism, religion, politics, and other factors should not hinder anyone from doing what is right as they pledged to fight against injustice, insecurity, corruption, intimidation, and human rights abuses, particularly against women and children.

The group’s state coordinators including, Comrade Laiye Abraham Tueridi, Barr Yakubu Alhaji Adamu, Bar Julius Okoro, Barr Olisa Chukwuka, Comr Edward Nnachi, Comr Amusan Emmanuel, Amb. Dr. Nnah Monday Akpan, Eng Emmanuel Adie Abua, Comr Lawrence Jnr Aguele, Bar Abel Amasowomwan, Comr Aminu Magaji Kazaure, Bar Shehu Aminu, Barr Abdullahi Badamasi Dodo, Barr Umar Umar Musa, Hajiya Aishatu Bakari Gombe, Barr Ismail Ibrahim, Mr Bashir Ibrahim, Dr Abdulateef Kehinde Badmus, Barr Obadiah Manasseh vowed to hold contractors, government agencies, and ministries accountable for their actions. They also promised to support the federal government, state governments, and security agencies in building a safer region.

They also assured student unions in Nigeria that they will intensify their focus on the welfare and affairs of students, and urged them to report any instances of lecturer misconduct, exploitation or unethical practices that compromise the educational experience.

A group of female barristers in the team including Barr Thyma Abiola, Barr Bitrus Nuwa, Barr Eshiet Divine Joseph, Barr Juliana Bako Saleh, Barr Chiamaka Egbusiri, Barr Confidence Agbator, Barr Elizabeth, Barr Meibe Damba, Barr Victory Adelaiye Oluwaseyi, Barr Goodnews Chima, Barr Elizabeth Omearebu also pledged to support the Federal Ministry of Women Affairs in combating abuse and violence against women and children, vowing to hold perpetrators accountable and promote equality for all citizens.

Notable patrons of them group , including Dr. Dauda Muhammad Atiyaye.,Barr Muhammed Yakubu, Barr Sale Samanja from Yobe State and Hon. Mohammad Bello ( Zanna Jangalma of Borne) , also commended Guard Time Information’s legal teams and state coordinators for their tireless efforts in supporting humanity and collaborating with agencies like the National Human Rights Commission and the Nigerian Police Force.

The group’s chairman Comrade Bibi Oduku, reaffirmed that the organization will investigate the well-being of students and patients in primary, secondary, and tertiary institutions, as well as hospitals, and will also inspect companies and industries to uncover human rights violations and hold perpetrators accountable.
