Bashir Adewale Adeniyi, Acting Comptroller General of Nigeria Customs Service has provided three trucks to strengthen the Zone A Federal Operations Unit of the service in the evacuation and towing of seizures made during anti smuggling operations.
Hussein Kehinde Ejibunu, Acting Controller of the unit who disclosed this to journalists in Lagos, said the vehicles have become a morale booster that will ease the logistics of the unit.
Ejibunu, a Deputy Comptroller of Customs said two of the trucks are for seizure evacuation while the third one will serve the purpose of towing.
According to him, the difficulties experienced by his men in the past while trying to move seizures and means of conveyance will now be greatly reduced.
“We are also expressing our gratitude to the Comptroller-General of Customs, Bashir Adewale Adeniyi MFR, for the additional logistics supply of two (2) trucks for the evacuation of seizures and a towing truck. The provision of these additional logistics has eased our operations.
“I am using this medium to thank all patriotic Nigerians that provided useful information that led to some arrests, and also the compliant traders and importers for complying with the extant laws. While the recalcitrant ones are advised to stop because it is a crime” he said.
