
The Customs Officers’ Wives Association (COWA), PTML Chapter, has ushered in a new leadership with the formal taking over of Mrs. Nabila Nura Miko as Chairperson, who pledged to strengthen members’ welfare, expand empowerment programme and deepen the association’s community service initiatives.
Speaking during the taking over ceremony held at the PTML Command, Mrs Miko assured members that she would lead with a strong sense of responsibility, building on the achievements of previous administrations while advancing the objectives of the association.
She also expressed appreciation to the National President of COWA, Mrs Kikelomo Adeniyi, for her leadership and commitment to the growth of the association across the country.

The new Chairperson also paid tribute to her predecessor, Mrs. Ifeoluwa Anani, for laying a solid foundation through impactful programmes and initiatives that have strengthened the PTML Chapter over the years
Speaking on her vision for the chapter, she noted that her leadership would focus on strengthening support systems for officers’ wives, particularly during challenging periods, while expanding skills acquisition and economic empowerment programmes aimed at improving members’ financial independence.

In his remarks , the Customs Area Controller of PTML Command, Deputy Comptroller Nura Miko, described the ceremony as a celebration of continuity, service and the invaluable contributions of officers’ wives to the Nigeria Customs Service family.
He commended the outgoing leadership for its accomplishments and acknowledged the critical role played by COWA members in maintaining stable homes that enable Customs officers to effectively discharge their responsibilities in revenue collection, trade facilitation and anti-smuggling operations.

He also congratulated the new Chairperson and expressed confidence in her ability to build on the successes of the previous administration and further advance the chapter’s programmes and activities.
Addressing members of COWA at the event, the Acting Chairperson, Mrs. Anny Akhigbe, expressed gratitude for the opportunity to serve and thanked the command management and members for their support during her tenure.
She formally handed over the mantle of leadership and expressed confidence in her successor’s ability to lead the association effectively and pledged her support to the new administration.
The ceremony was attended by command officials, sectional heads, officers, COWA members and invited guests.
