Oyo/Osun Customs Kicks off Inter-Agency Football Tournament to Boost Unity

The Nigeria Customs Service, Oyo/Osun Area Command, has flagged off the Comptroller General Customs ,Bashir Adewale Adeniyi Football Tournament as part of efforts to strengthen inter-agency collaboration and promote physical fitness among security personnel.

The tournament, which kicked off on Friday at the The Polytechnic Ibadan Football Field, brings together teams from various sister security agencies operating within Oyo State. It is designed to foster unity, teamwork, and improved working relationships across agencies critical to national security.

 

In a press release issued by the command’s public relations officer Assistant Superintendent of Custom I, Abdulmalik Abiodun Akintola, on 1 May, 2026, the opening fixture saw the Nigeria Customs Service Football Club take on the team from the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) in a tightly contested match. The game ended in a goalless draw, signaling what promises to be a highly competitive tournament.

The CGC BA Adeniyi Football Tournament is scheduled to run from May 1 to May 19, 2026, with participating teams vying for top honors in a display of sportsmanship and unity.
