Jamaica Reggae Legend Jimmy Cliff Dies at 81

Prominent reggae icon Jimmy Cliff has died at the age of 81. Celebrated for global hits such as Reggae Night, Wonderful World, Beautiful People, and You Can Get It If You Really Want, Cliff was instrumental in bringing the vibrant sound of the Caribbean to international audiences.

His wife, Latifa Chambers, announced his passing in a heartfelt statement on Instagram.

“It’s with profound sadness that I share that my husband, Jimmy Cliff, has crossed over due to a seizure followed by pneumonia… Jimmy, my darling, may you rest in peace. I will follow your wishes.”

Cliff leaves behind a towering musical legacy that shaped reggae’s global rise and influenced generations of artists.
