
The Nigeria LNG Ship Management Limited (NSML) has restated it’s commitment to produce quality maritime manpower with globally acceptable certification that would boost the nation’s economy and promote self reliance
Captain Lawrence Chukwu, the company’s Manager in charge of Terminal Operation, stated this on Friday in Bonny Island while addressing journalists at the company’s Maritime Centre of Excellence (MCOE).
Chukwu stated that the United Kingdom’s Maritime and Coastguard Agency(MCA) has certified the centre to achieve its goal of delivering quality teaching and learning in the maritime industry.
According to him, with the recognition accorded the MCOE, holders of it’s certificates enjoy unlimited acceptance in the global maritime community for career progression and job placement.
NSML is providing the needed professional training in maritime especially operation of gas at home in Nigeria for which many have had to travel abroad
According to him, the NSML as member of International Maritime Employers Council (IMEC) is committed to it’s Seafarers Continuous Development(SCD)Programme.
