NSML Awards Staff, Partners as MD Ahmed Declares 2024 Most Profitable Year

... Company Exceeds 13 Million Man Hours Without Injury


Managing Director of Nigeria LNG Ship Management Limited(NSML) , Abdulkadir Ahmed has described 2024 as the company’s best year in terms of profitability and safety of personnel.

Speaking at its 2024 Award Night and Dinner held at Bonny Island, Ahmed said the year was a watershed period for several reasons ranging from health, safety and environment; thirteen million man hours work period without lost time injury where the company exceeded it’s target in terms of reliability and availability.

The MD who attributed the company’s successes to a combination of staff, government agencies and partners efforts expressed optimism to do better in 2025 and years to come.

Ahmed added that the awards are aimed at celebrating everyone that have contributed in various ways to the overall successes recorded in 2024


Aside employees and private sector partners, government agencies like Nigerian Maritime Administration and Safety Agency (NIMASA) Nigerian Ports Authority (NPA) Port Health Service, Department of State Service (DSS) also bagged various categories of awards.

Talking about 2024,Ahmed said “It was a watershed year both in terms of HSE. it was one of our best years. We were able to exceed 13 million man hours without Lost Time Injury 2024. It was also a watershed year in terms of operational performance, both on our vessels at the terminal and our various work locations.

“Operationally, we were able to exceed our target when it comes to reliability and availability. But most importantly, it was also a watershed year in terms of our profitability. 2024 was our best year since inception when it comes to reliability.

“All of this wouldn’t have been achieved without the hard work and dedication of all our people. And I underline all our people,not just people not just on our payroll but people who are essentially associated with what we do especially our staff and partners. It shows really what can be achieved if we all work together, collaborate, but most importantly keep our eyes on the goal . So what are we here to do today? We are here to celebrate that.

“To appreciate everybody that has really contributed to what has been a wonderful year for us in.And it is also a recognition for all our partners, because what we do wouldn’t be possible without those partners working hand-in-hand with us, buying into our vision and buying into what we’ve decided we want to deliver.

“So, to name just a few of all the government agencies NIMASA NPA, the DSS, and all the relevant agencies that have worked with us, we want to say a big thank you for all that you do.

“Now, what does it mean? Having achieved what we achieved in 2024, it basically entails that we have to go back and do the same. As we’ve always said in our strategic imperative still remains to be safe, reliable, but most importantly, to create value.

“And I’m absolutely certain that if we continue to work together, if we continue to keep our eyes on the goal , but most importantly to continue to support one another, pushing the boundaries of operational excellence, we will be safe, we will be reliable, and we will create value for all our stakeholders.

“So I just want to say thank you once again for being here. I’m sure it’s going to be an excellent night. It will be a night where it’s not just about those who win something, it’s about everybody that has contributed to it.
