MASPAN, AMANO Hail Adeyanju for Supporting Maritime Security Conference

The Maritime Security Providers Association of Nigeria (MASPAN) and the Alumni of Maritime Academy of Nigeria, Oron (AMANO) have lauded the Maritime Workers Union of Nigeria (MWUN) for giving full support during the just concluded MASPAN_AMANO 2024 Conference.

According to a press release signed by the Head of Media, MWUN , John Kennedy Ikemefuna, the discussion at the event was based on Drugs, Human Smuggling & Trafficking: ‘The Evolving Maritime Security Threats To Ships & Seafarers’

John Kennedy explained that Adewale Adeyanju who is the President-General of MWUN and doubles as the Deputy President of the Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC) and the Vice President Global, International Transport Workers Federation (ITF) was the Special Guest on the occasion, which was organized by both bodies to sensitise the nation’s maritime space on the dangers of drugs towards the general wellbeing of humanity and the dangers it poses to the society in general, same which goes for human trafficking and smuggling.

He noted the event came to a successful end with both MASPAN and AMANO avowing their unflinching support for the President -General of MWUN and continued commitment towards the course of the Maritime Workers Union of Nigeria at all times.

The MWUN Head of Media added that MASPAN, AMANO appreciated the MWUN PG for contributing immensely to the success of the conference while the Deputy PG of MASPAN was honoured for his goodwill message.

“In the same vein, Comrade Francis Bunu, Deputy President -General of the Union was also given accolades for his goodwill message, which was a morale booster for participants during the occasion; and as an astute Seafarer of note, his contributions and unwavering support for the nation’s Seafarers cannot be overemphasized.” he wrote.
