Air Peace, has announced the resumption of all flight operations on Friday April 25, 2025 following the suspension of the industrial action by the Nigerian Meteorological Agency (NiMet) and other labour unions in the aviation sector.
The Air Peace Head, Corporate Communications, Ejike Nduilo , in a statement disclosed that the Minister of Aviation and Aerospace Development, Festus Keyamo has resolved the issues between NiMet and the unions during a closed-door meeting between the minister of and executives of NiMet.
According to a statement issued by Tunde Moshood, the Special Adviser on Media and Communications to the Minister , the unions suspended the strike until May 13, 2025, pending the outcome of the ministerβs intervention on the issues raised. Keyamo expressed concern for the affected workers and pledged his commitment to finding lasting solutions to their concerns.
He said that he would personally intervene through formal communications to both the Federal Government and the Ministry of Finance, to hasten the resolution of pressing financial concerns.
He also promised to establish a ministerial committee, which would be headed by Ibrahim Kana, the Permanent Secretary of the ministry, to interface with the National Salaries, Incomes and Wages Commission and the Federal Ministry of Labour and Employment to clarify issues surrounding subsistence allowances and related matters.
