Nigeria has recorded another milestone on the global stage as the School of Eloquence (Nigeria) officially secured a Guinness World Records title for completing the world’s longest speech marathon by a team, a remarkable 480-hour feat achieved in Lagos.
The record, set during the “20 Days of Eloquence – Nigeria Speaks to the World” initiative, was accomplished between 1 and 21 April 2026 and has now been officially adjudicated and confirmed by Guinness World Records.
The institution recently received its official Guinness World Records certificate, which was unveiled during a special reception at the School of Eloquence.
The event also celebrated the participants and supporters whose dedication and commitment made the historic achievement possible.
Speaking on the milestone, the Dean of the School of Eloquence, Ubong Essien expressed gratitude to God and to everyone who supported the initiative.
He said the achievement belonged not only to the institution but also to the many individuals who encouraged the team, prayed for them, shared their story, and believed in the vision.
Essien noted that the recognition reinforces the school’s commitment to promoting excellence in public speaking and communication, adding that the institution would continue its mission of “Teaching the World to Speak.”
The Guinness World Record marks a significant milestone for Nigeria and further highlights the country’s growing presence on the global stage through education, communication, and human achievement.
