In a statement issued on 20th May, 2026 by FAAN’s Director of Public Affairs and Consumer Protection, Henry Agbebire, the Authority said it has intensified surveillance and passenger monitoring in collaboration with the Port Health Services, the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control and Prevention (NCDC), and other relevant agencies.

According to Agbebire , passengers arriving from high-risk regions are being closely monitored, while health screening procedures have been strengthened at airports nationwide to prevent any possible importation of the disease into Nigeria.

He disclosed that passengers are currently being screened for symptoms associated with Ebola, adding that any suspected case would be immediately isolated and subjected to secondary health checks in line with national and international health protocols.
