Dr. Festus Nwiue Bags Amjon Excellence Award

The Managing Director JEMEB Inspection Services and Executive Director Business development,Shibait Nigeria limited, Dr Festus Nwiue was at the weekend honoured with the Excellence award for port infrastructural consultancy and public services in the nation’s ports

The award was conferred on him by Association of Maritime Journalists of Nigeria (AMJON),as part of the activities marking its 2026 annual conference, which took place at the Rockview hotel and Suites,Apapa-lagos, Thursday 30th, April,2026.

The Assistant Inspector General of Police, highly represented by DCP.U.M Ugochi while presenting the award to Dr. Festus Nwiue, noted that Dr Festus has persistently remained a foremost and dodged fighter for the cause of the Nigeria economy and who have consistently done the maritime sector proud by his public services.

The President of Amjon, Comrade Vera Osokpo said,the award to Dr Festus Nwiue was based on popular maritime community sampling, and effort Amjon undertook to add weight and popularity to this kind of rating for which many organisations in the past have undertaken without clearly defined debth, credentials and scope.

She said,”Amjon didn’t get up one day and decided Dr.Nwiue merited an award. Your nomination and your eventual emergence for the Excellence award was the outcome of a crucial and rigorous research and poll sampling.

While responding, Chief Nkpemenyie Mcdominic who stand in,for Dr. Festus Nwiue quoted Festus as saying,”Let me say Iam touched by this award.”I placed high premium on maritime journalism because I believe that adequate and factual publicity of the events, developments, and happenings,help in growing the industry. Your strength is in your ability to be able to discharge your reporting appropriately and adequately, Iam encouraged by this award because is coming from the fourth estate of the realm as it were. I feel humbled and honoured that my efforts in the industry is getting some notice “, adding,”in your next conference,if God keeps us alive,I intend to reciprocate this gesture by personally been in attendance as participant. I apologise for my absence at the conference due to circumstances beyond my control
