Surveyor Festus Buries Mother in Grand style

It was a total shutdown despite the heavy downfall in Nyorkuru community in Nyorkhana on Saturday as the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Shipbait Nigeria limited and Member Guild of Marine Surveyors of Nigeria, Dr. Festus Nwiue laid her mother to rest in a grand funeral ceremony turn Carnival attended by top maritime stakeholders, Politicians and dignitaries across the globe.
The burial begin with service of songs on Friday at the Nwiue Family compound.
The Carnival -like funeral event captured different traditional dance groups, Parade by Methodist Women fellowship department drew a large turnout despite the heavy downfall including well noted politicians, the business communities, Customs brokers, Traditional rulers from both south and west. Multiple clubs from both home and diaspora.
Sympathisers and almost every one in the neighborhood were not left out as they wailed gnashed there teeth in anguish as Madam Lucy Baby Nwiue was laid to rest.
Madam Lucy Baby Nwiue was buried last Saturday at her husband country home, Nyorkuru, amidst tears and torrents of tribute.
The chief mourner, Dr festus Nwiue spoke effusively about his mother in an emotion-laden speech to our correspondent after the interment, describing her as the best friend to all her children for giving them all they needed to be successful in life.
“Our mother was our very best friend who allowed us to be best that we could. She allowed us to be what we want to be, but never discriminating. That’s how she allowed us married across the state.
Nwiue further said,”her mother unwavering love,wise counsel, gentle heart, countless sacrifices shape their lives in a way words can never fully express.
“Although our hearts ache because you are no longer with us,we find comfort in knowing that your legacy of love,faith and kindness will live on forever”.
“To me if there is any person who did not have enemies, it must be my mother, because she just got on with her life. She didn’t discriminate in any position she found herself, good, comfortable, painful, she got on”,he said.
Dr. Festus said, the many things he learnt from her mother made him what he is today and what he tries to be. On a modest note, he added,he hoped he could be as rounded in integrity, humble in his attitude to life and fully committed in all situation as her mother was.
Decoaness Nwiue was a likeable iconic and virtuous woman. A devoted Christian mother while alive is evident in the array of distinguish Nigerians from different streams of endeavors that witnessed her burial.
Decoaness Nwiue’s was however,move to the Methodist church where the funeral service and thanksgiving was held between 10am and 12noon.
Rt. Rev.Uduakobong U. Akpan, the Bishop of Nyorkhana Diocese who impressed the sympathisers at the funeral, urged everyone present to live righteously so that they could get to heaven.
He described Decoaness Nwiue as lovely caring mother, wonderful, spiritual and inspiring, mother and virtuous woman leader.
“Decoaness Lucy served God fervently and faithfully in her lifetime.She fulfill her ministry of love,care and generosity”
“All those who came across her knew her for all these qualities ,adding that her enduring legacy will continue to inspire generation to come.
She was everything good you could think about. She was a great gift , now play her role and departed to eternity.
“The lesson for those of us who still alive is to live our lives in a way to be remembered, so that when such glorious home calling comes,we will have a life of sacrifice to present”,he said.
