NLC Deputy President, Adeyanju, Celebrates Women on International Women’s Day

The Deputy President of the Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC), Adewale Adeyanju, has praised the strength, resilience and contributions of women across the globe as the world marks International Women’s Day.

Adeyanju, who also serves as President of the International Transport Workers’ Federation (ITF), described women as the backbone of society and the source from which humanity has flourished worldwide.

 

 

The former President-General of the Maritime Workers’ Union of Nigeria noted that women play an indispensable role in the survival and growth of humanity, emphasising that the world would have been empty and devoid of life without them.

According to him, women must continue to strive for excellence in their various fields of endeavour. He stressed that dignity exists in labour anywhere in the world.

 

Adeyanju further stated that many of the most successful women globally are those who refused to be intimidated or oppressed in a male-dominated society.He urged women to remain steadfast in pursuing their dreams and asserting their rights.

He also encouraged women to continue contributing to leadership, nation building and the promotion of peace, noting that women have always been recognised as symbols of peace across the world.

 

The labour leader commended women who are making remarkable strides in different professions and urged them to remain role models by leading with exemplary conduct in society.

 

He appreciated women for their invaluable contributions to society and prayed that their efforts in nation building would never be in vain, expressing hope that their dedication and hard work would be duly rewarded by God.
