Only CRFFN Registered Freight Forwarders Will Have Access to National Single Window Platform’

Only freight forwarding practitioners and companies registered with the Council for the Regulation of Freight Forwarders in Nigeria(CRFFN) will have access to the National Single Window(NSW) platform expected to come live in the early part of 2026

This was disclosed in Lagos by Dr Tola Fakolade, Director of the National Single Window Project at a meeting with top executives of the council on Wednesday August 20 , 2025.

IMG 20250820 WA0065Fakolade said the meeting is important as part the project implementation office to interface with various Ministries, Departments and Agencies to deepen awareness and prepare the grounds ahead of the NSW going live

He said the NSW is a centralised platform that allows for single sign on and sign off to facilitate import and export trade, improve trade facilitation and reduce time of cargo clearance at seaports , airports and borders.

On internal revenue collection, Fakolade said the NSW activities and the recently created National Revenue Service will not impede CRFFN’s drive for revenue.

Speaking at the event, Kingsley Igwe,Registrar of the CRFFN commended Dr Fakolade and his team for the great job they are doing which will streamline and facilitate trade for national growth and economic development

Aside the existing 4000 registered companies in the council’s database, Igwe said the council has been able to register additional 100 this year

He disclosed that the council will revalidate it’s registration and obtain more information needed for their integration into the NSW system. He added that the council would require that practitioners would meet NSW requirements to be licensed

According to the Registrar, there are over 40,000 companies involved in the logistics ecosystem and many are yet to be properly registered

On steps being taken for the registration, the Registrar said the CRFFN has commenced taken biometric data from freight forwarding practitioners at the airport with the collaboration of the Federal Airport Authority of Nigeria (FAAN) while planning to replicate same at the ports in conjunction with the Nigerian Ports Authority (NPA)
