The Akwa Ibom State Commissioner for Special Duties and Ibom Deep Sea Port, Ini Ememobong has resigned from his office following Governor Umo Eno’s defection to the All Progressives Congress (APC).

Ini Ememobong disclosed this in a letter addressed to Governor Umo Eno who said he moved from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) to the All Progressives Congress (APC) to align the state with the centre to attract more Federal presence.

In his speech termed as ‘Progressives Movement from Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) to All Progressives Congress (APC), Eno said he had never hidden his admiration for President Bola Tinubu and his patriotic devotion to national renewal which he is engendering today.

Ememobong stated that he is resigning because Governor Eno directed that any appointee who is unwilling to accompany him to switch from the PDP to the APC, should resign.

He appreciated the Governor for giving him the opportunity to serve in two critical ministries.
