Boeing Group Restates Commitment To Support Growth of Air Peace

The Boeing Company, a leading global aerospace company in the US, has restated its support to Air Peace, Nigeria’s premier airline and West Africa’s largest carrier.

According to the Air peace Head of Corporate Communications, Ejike Nduilo, who disclosed this in a press release, this is a testament to the critical role Air Peace plays in the development of aviation industry in Nigeria.

Nduilo disclosed that Harry Magui, Senior Organisational Consultant and Programme Manager, Boeing Global Learning Institute made the declaration when a delegation from The Boeing Company and Cranfield University, a specialist postgraduate university in the UK with world-class expertise, large-scale facilities and unrivalled industry partnerships that creates leaders in technology and management globally visited Air Peace to conduct a five-day in-person classroom training, to fortify safety culture and operational excellence at Air Peace Limited.

Magui assured that the leading global aerospace company will continue to collaborate with Air Peace in critical areas such as psychological safety, change management processes, safety leadership, crisis management and just culture.

“All airlines know, even more so Air Peace, that safety is the number one metric within this industry. Without safety, there can be no business in Aviation and also, it is a very important metric not just for the airline but also for regulators, and the passengers.”

Speaking in the same vein, Harrison Debrah, Global Safety & Regulatory Affairs, The Boeing Company acknowledged the giant stride Air Peace made in a very short time. He revealed that Air Peace will continue to be at the centre of Boeing Group’s vision for Nigeria and commended the Chairman/CEO of Air Peace, Dr. Allen Onyema for his resilience, tenacity and passion.

Dr. Fabian Steinmann, Lecturer, Organisational Resilience and Change at Cranfield School of Management expressed enthusiasm to share knowledge.

He explained that just like Air Peace, safety is at the heart of everything they do at Cranfield adding that they are privileged to travel around the world, pick up the good practices, learn more about the culture and the operation in various countries.

He said “We’re now here in Lagos, Nigeria together with Boeing delivering a course for Air Peace. Air Peace just celebrated their 10th Anniversary, so we are excited to engage wisdom and learn more about their operation because at Cranfield, we really care about the safety of the system, making it robust but also making it flexible to adapt to the ever-changing environment.

“We are here to facilitate that exchange with Nigeria and Air Peace to see how we share some of the good practices and lessons learned from all around the world and translate them into the operation.”

In response, Dr. Onyema thanked them for their kind words and noted that the management of Air Peace was looking forward to the Advanced Leadership in Safety Excellence training by The Boeing Company.

He revealed that he has never used any other airline apart from Air Peace because of his trust in the safety and maintenance culture at Air Peace. The Air Peace Chairman explained that the airline encourages the non-punitive report, an indication that the Air Peace has adopted the Just Culture in the organisation.

“In Air Peace, safety is at the core of everything we do. We have a system of checks and balances in the system”.
