Oyo/Osun Customs Strengthens Working Relationship With Police , NDLEA , Others


The Customs Area Controller of Oyo/Osun Command,Comptroller Ben Oramalugo has renewed the existing relationship between the Nigeria Customs Service (NCS) and sister security agencies in his area of responsibility.

Dr. Oramalugo who visited the Oyo State Commissioner of Police ,CP Adebola Hamzat at the state police headquaters on Friday , October 20, 2023 also visited the Oyo State Commands of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA), Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC), Department of State Service (DSS), Nigeria Airforce Station (NAF) , Nigeria Immigration Service (NIS) and Nigerian Correctional Service (NCoS)

Oramalugo secured fresh assurances from heads of the various agencies on collaboration , intelligence sharing and mutual understanding without compromising their respective mandates.

He also used the opportunity of the visits to further enlighten other agencies on the functions and mandates of the NCS which include revenue collection, suppression of smuggling, trade facilitation and others


Kayode Wey, Customs Public Relations Officer disclosed in a press release that “The Customs Area Controller elaborated the core mandates of Nigeria Customs Service, as encompassing Revenue Generation, Trade Facilitation and Suppression of smuggling. He emphasized the need for the Oyo/Osun Command of the Nigeria Customs service to seek increase collaboration, strengthen the synergize with Nigeria Police Force Oyo Command in fulfilling its mandates within the State”

CP Hamzat in his response welcomed the Customs Area Controller to Oyo State, He expressed his appreciation for the visit and assured the Customs Area Controller of his commitment to collaborate and further strengthen the already existing relationship between both security agencies

The Commissioner of Police also highlighted various reforms that had happened in the Nigeria Police Force and how it has made the Police Force more robust and capable to perform its duties to other security agencies and citizens of the Country .

He assured him that there was no need for rivalry between security agencies, as every security agency serves our great nation Nigeria. Finally, he wished the Customs Area Controller a successful tour of duty in the State.
