Oshiomole v Air Peace: I Refused Offer of Privilege Because of Airline’s Institutional Extortion- Oshiomole

Senator Adams Oshiomole has said he refused Air Peace offer for a preferential treatment to be allowed to fly while some other passengers alleged to have arrived late were denied flying, describing the airline’s act as institutional extortion.
Speaking on a Channels Television programme, Politics Today, Oshiomole said he met other passengers complaining at the airport in a rowdy manner after Air Peace refused them to flight except they pay as much as โฆ109,000.
According to him, his attention was sought by passengers who described him (Oshiomole) as a Senator representing all Nigerians. According to him, one of the passengers said if the Senator leaves them, they won’t be allowed to fly.
While further blaming Air Peace for delay in flights, Oshiomole said he had given instructions to those buying his tickets not to buy Air Peace tickets for him. According to him, “There is no Peace in that airline”
He said passengers were acting rowdy because they were asked to pay โฆ109,000 in addition to the โฆ146,000 already paid while fresh tickets were being sold for new passengers for about โฆ250,000.
The senator urged Channels Television to interview all other passengers that were affected by the Air Peace refusal to allow them board the aeroplane last week.
He added that one of the passengers allegedly lost an opportunity to attend a training programme in Dubai because she was not allowed to be on board .
