Onyeka, Tincan Customs Controller Strengthens Synergy with Stakeholders, Seeks Transparency, Feedback

Comptroller Frank Onyeka, the Customs Area Controller (CAC) of Tincan Island Port Command, held a strategic engagement session with key stakeholders and partners at the command’s headquarters in Lagos on Thursday, June 24, 2025.

IMG 20250630 WA0046The event brought together key industry players and trade partners for a dialogue on service delivery, system improvement, and the future of customs operations at the port.

Comptroller Onyeka stated, “I invited stakeholders so I could hear directly from them, where we’re falling short, where gaps exist, and how we can close them immediately.”

IMG 20250630 WA0041He stressed the importance of transparency and open feedback as essential tools for reform and improved performance. “I’m satisfied with the level of engagement and the feedback received. We’ve already begun acting on the issues raised”, he added.

IMG 20250630 WA0040He reiterated his alignment with the Comptroller-General of Customs, Adewale Adeniyi, who has tasked officers nationwide with collaborating, consolidating, and innovating.

Comptroller Onyeka assured that the stakeholder sessions would continue regularly to build trust, boost efficiency, and foster mutual understanding.

The Vice President and Head of Regional Manufacturing Operations at Olam Agri, Shamim Hamza, described the engagement as a shift from traditional approaches.
