The Nigeria Civil Aviation Authority (NCAA) has assured that proper investigation is being made after its attention was drawn to late arrivals and subsequent delayed departures of British Airways Flights to and from Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport, Abuja.
The Director of Public Affairs and Consumer Protection , NCAA, Micheal Achimugu who disclosed this in a press statement explained that the delay which has been happening for about three consecutive days starting from 27th August, 2024 has resulted in many inconveniences to the travelling public.
He assured that the cause of the delay is being investigated and necessary actions would be put in place to avoid such from happening again.
” The NCAA has contacted British Airways and initiated investigation into these frequent delays to establish the root cause of these delays and take appropriate action to ensure passengers rights are protected and also prevent recurrence ”
“The investigation will involve intensified inspections with the NCAA/ICAO FASAP (Foreign Aircraft Safety Assessment Programme) of all aircraft on the Nigerian route for regulatory compliance ”
” The travelling public should be rest assured that the NCAA will do all within its powers to ensure their rights are protected in support of the HMA’s policy to eliminate unnecessary flight delays ” he wrote.
