“ Comptroller Haniel Hadison is not a man who shouts about his achievements. He has spent the better part of three decades doing his work, moving from one assignment to another, building a record that speaks for itself. No drama, no headlines — just consistent effort. I have taken time to look through his journey — from his enlistment in the Nigeria Customs Service in 1994 to his present role at the Headquarters.

“What strikes me most is not the number of degrees or certificates he has gathered, impressive as they are. It is the pattern of his life: whenever he was given a task, he completed it. Whenever he was offered a chance to learn, he took it. And whenever he was called to lead, he led by example.

“There is a discipline that runs through his story — the kind of discipline that does not announce itself but leaves a quiet, undeniable mark. It is easy to admire success when it is wrapped in glamour. But the real test of character is success that is built quietly, over many years, often away from public attention. That is what we are celebrating today.

“ I am proud that a son of Mombol has carried himself with such sense and honour. And I am even prouder that his community has found it fit to recognise him while he is still active in service. Recognition like this sends a clear message — that we still value those who rise by merit, not manipulation; those who work their way up, not scheme their way up. To the young people sitting here today, let me say this: look carefully at the man we are honouring. His story is not one of shortcuts or sudden breakthroughs. It is a story of preparation, patience, and persistence. These are the tools that still open doors in life, even when the world seems to reward noise and shortcuts.

“ To Comptroller Hadison, let me say this: you have done well. But your greatest impact may not even be in the titles you have earned or the awards you have received. It will be in the lives of the young men and women who, because of you, will believe that hard work still counts. I encourage you to find ways to pass on the lessons you have gathered — formally or informally. You owe the next generation that gift.

“Finally, to the Mombol community, I commend you for organising this. No government policy can substitute for communities that value honour and celebrate their own. When we gather like this to lift up good examples, we are also setting a standard for others to follow”.

The ceremony was attended by prominent dignitaries, including Speaker of the Adamawa State House of Assembly, Rt Hon Bathiya Wesley, Tol Huba HRM Alheri Bulus Nyako, and other notable figures such as General Haldu Hananiya, former Minister Dr Aliyu Idi Hong, and the Member representing Gombi/Hong at the National Assembly.

The event showcased the rich cultural heritage of the Huba people, with traditional troupes performing in honor of the esteemed guest.
