Lagos Free Zone Customs Generates ₦661.5b Revenue in 11 Months, Surpasses Previous Year’s Collection 

The Lagos Free Trade Zone Command of the Nigeria Customs Service has generated a revenue of ₦661,545,608,365.96 from January to November 2025 which is a significant improvement over the previous year.

According to the Area Controller of the Command, Comptroller Hauwa Abubakar who disclosed this during the Command’s End of The Year Party, the achievement reflects enhanced compliance levels, improved operational efficiency and strengthened collaboration with Free Zone operators and Lekki Port stakeholders.

The CAC expressed confidence that by the end of December 2025, the Command will surpass and effectively double the revenue of ₦358,999,366,368.00 recorded in 2024.

Abubakar explained that beyond revenue, the Command has recorded notable achievements in stakeholder engagement, inter-agency collaboration and community relations while sustaining cordial working relationships with Traditional Rulers of the host communities, whose support has ensured a peaceful and enabling operational environment.

She appreciated the media for their professionalism and continued support in projecting the activities and achievements of the Lagos Free Trade Zone Command to the public stating that their role in promoting transparency, accountability and public confidence in the Command’s operations is highly valued.

Looking ahead to 2026, she said expectations are clear and ambitious as the Command is determined to consolidate on the gains of 2025, improve operational efficiency, deepen stakeholder confidence and further enhance revenue generation.

Comptroller Abubakar affirmed that the Command will continue to prioritize officers’ welfare, capacity building and professionalism, while strengthening compliance, innovation and service delivery across the Free Zones and Lekki Port corridor.

She also pledged to intensify stakeholder engagement, sustain strong inter-agency synergy and embrace innovative strategies that will position the Lagos Free Trade Zone Command as a model Command in the Nigeria Customs Service.
