Gunmen in Kogi Abduct 3 Relatives of Journalist, Demand N50m

Gunmen have abducted three relatives of former Daily Trust Editor, Malam Ahmed Ajobe, including his younger sister, Halimtu-Sadiya Tahir.

The victims were kidnapped on their way from a nearby community market in Awo, Ankpa local government area of Kogi State.

Ajobe, who lost his mother, Malama Aishetu Tahir, on Sunday after a protracted illness, was making preparations for the seven-day prayers.

The kidnappers demanded N50 million as ransom for the release of the victims.


Bethrand Onuoha, the State Commissioner of Police, has ordered the police tactical squad to reinforce the team already deployed by the area DPO to ensure the safe release of the victims and bring the criminals to justice.
