Eid-el-fitri: Edo Police Orders Surveillance Around Worship Centres

The Edo State Commissioner of Police, CP Mohammed Dankwara has ordered a special security surveillance around worship centres, parks, highways and other vulnerable places in the state to ensure a hitch free 2023 Eid-el-fitri celebration.

This was contained in a statement signed by the Command’s Public Relations Officer, SP Chidi Nwabuzor.

According to the Police spokesperson, CP Dankwara congratulated Muslims in the state for observing the holy month of Ramadan and assured the general public of adequate security.

“The CP made this declaration today at the Police State Headquarters Benin City, while addressing the Officers and men during deployments of Officers to Benin Centra Mosque and all other places of worship across the State, including all vulnerable locations ahead of Sallah celebration.


“Owing to the prevalent security situation in some parts of the State, members of the public are enjoined to be observant and report any suspicious movement, distress or breach of public peace to the nearest police station or through phone call to the police command control telephone numbers 08077773721, 08123827225, and 08056776365”, the statement said.
