The action, according to Nnadi is to address the anticipated surge that is likely to follow the restoration of the network after days of downtime to clear cargoes at the mother port and bonded terminals

He regretted the delays caused by the backlog created by thunder strike that affected the network infrastructure of the command coupled with network glitches that adversely affected connectivity between the Nigeria Customs Service platform and it’s Nigeria Integrated Customs Information System (NICIS II) platform.

When our reporter visited the port on Friday, June 28, 2024 as at past 7pm , officers were seen complying with the port order to avoid congestion and likely payment of demurrage associated with such delays, working beyond the usual 5pm closing time.
