COWA President, Adeniyi Commisions PTML Vocational Training Centre, Pledges Support for Widows


National President of Customs Officers Wives Association (COWA) Mrs Kikelomo Adeniyi has commissioned a vocational training centre for skill acquisition and empowerment established by the Port Terminal Multiservices Limited (PTML) Chapter of the association in Lagos

Screenshot 20240828 152750Mrs Adeniyi who lauded the project, described it as a good step towards empowering members of the association, widows of deceased customs officers and others through entrepreneurship.

IMG 20240828 WA0078She urged customs officers wives to always support their spouses by making their homes very hospitable as a way to enhance their productive at work

Adeniyi who inspected some food , drink and cosmetic products made by the trainees from the centre also presented sewing machines,certificates and food items to the trainees and widows

IMG 20240828 WA0070She added that COWA is rebranding for the better and would continually improve in adding value to the lives of its stakeholders while urging more potential members to join and identify with the association.

Speaking earlier at the event, Chairman of PTML Chapter of COWA, Mrs Maureen Daniyan thanked Adeniyi for her sterling leadership of the association

IMG 20240828 WA0085Mrs. Daniyan said COWA, PTML Area Command has been committed to executing the association’s empowerment programmes and services to humanity in general

According to Mrs. Daniyan , the programmes were designed to impact the home front and society positively while she commended wives of customs officers for being pillars of support for their husbands and other family members

Mrs Daniyan said “Our focus on catering,soap making and other vocations are part of our first step venture. We hope to do more as God gives us strength.We have also procured take off equipment as capital for the trainees to work . We believe these will go a long way in positioning the beneficiaries for self reliance and economic emancipation

“Our national president will today present the certificate of completion of the skills on catering and soap making

The beneficiaries will also receive equipment, which is the first phase of this empowerment training programmes.

“I implore all COWA members to key into this training programmes to empower them to be self-reliant, hardworking and productive as entrepreneurs. This is just the beginning of many laudable programmes we have lined up
