Comptroller Kaila Promises Stronger Customs Community Outreach As Seme COWA Celebrate Children’s Day

Comptroller Shuaibu Kaila, the Customs Area Controller of Seme Border Command has expressed willingness to strengthen customs community relations and consistently celebrate children through educational support and other acts of corporate social responsibility.

Speaking at the 2026 Children’s Day celebration organised by the Seme Command’s Chapter of the Customs Officers Wives Association (COWA) on Saturday May 23, 2026, Kaila said Children are the future of every great society.

While pledging support for future COWA events, he said Seme Command on his watch will not wait for next Children’s Day before doing something for the children as part of efforts to build a stronger future for them

According to him, COWA has impacted positively on women, children, less privileged and the vulnerable in the society through donations, empowerment like skills acquisition and other activities

Speaking to reporters at the close of the event,Comptroller Kaila said “This event is all about Customs Officers’ Wives Association and the aim of this association is to empower people, more especially the less privileged. It’s an initiative that goes a long way in touching the lives of others.

“More especially, as I said, the less privileged within the host community. As you can see what they did, they distributed so many materials to school children and the rest of it.That is what COWA is all about.

“It has played a lot of impact in so many people’s lives at different places.I might not be everywhere, but with social media , we are seeing what COWA is doing to people in some places. It has played a lot of positive impact in the lives of so many communities and we here in Seme Boder are not left out.

 

“This will be a continuous process but the only thing is this time, as I have seen the way and manner the children were happy during this celebration, I will not even wait for another children’s day. I will always find time to organise something like that to make our children happy” the Controller concluded.

The Coordinator of Seme COWA, Mrs Abubakar thanked the Controller for supporting the event and urged parents to prioritise their children well being.
