Comptroller General of Nigeria Customs Service, Col. Hameed Ali today commissioned an ultra modern hall named after him at the Apapa Command with a charge on officers to increase their level of productivity.
Ali who was represented by Modupeola Aremu, Assistant Comptroller General of Customs and Zonal Coordinator for Zone A, commended the Area Controller for his robust liaison with stakeholders to achieve the state of the art hall and offices.
The CGC implored other Area Controllers to emulate the act and leave indelible impacts in their various commands.
He commended Area Commands in Zone A for their 2022 revenue collection performance and restated that they contribute over 80 percent of the total annual revenue target of the service.
According to him Apapa command alone collected N1trillion of the total N3.1trillion target for last year.
While welcoming the ACG, Malanta Ibrahim Yusuf, Customs Area Controller of Apapa, described the overhaul reformation as a product of stakeholders contribution and support
He commended the CGC and his management team for their support and assured of more impacts to facilitate trade and create a conducive office work environment supported by an ultra modern hall for stakeholders meeting.
Aside the hall, the renovation created open plan offices for Post Clearance Audit(PCA) valuation and other offices.
