Apapa Customs Breaks Daily Revenue Record with ₦20.1bn Under New Controller , Oshoba

The Apapa Area Command of the Nigeria Customs Service (NCS) has recorded an unprecedented daily revenue collection of ₦20,156,077,098.56 , just 24 hours after the assumption of office by its new Customs Area Controller (CAC), Comptroller Emmanuel Oshoba.

In a press statement signed by the command’s Public Relations Officer , Superintendent of Customs Tunde Ayagbalo, on 10th September , 2025, the record, achieved on Tuesday, September 9, 2025, is the highest daily collection ever recorded by any customs command in Nigeria under the Unified Customs Management System, also known as B’Odogwu. It surpasses the previous benchmark of ₦18 billion and sets the tone for Comptroller Oshoba’s tenure.

Speaking shortly after assuming office on 8th September, 2025, Oshoba had vowed to build on the achievements of his predecessor and drive the command towards surpassing its revenue targets. This feat, he noted, is only a glimpse of what is to come.

He commended officers of the command and stakeholders for their role in achieving the new milestone and reiterated his belief in the power of collective effort, hard work, and unwavering commitment to duty.

In his first meeting with senior officers, Comptroller Oshoba charged them to elevate their level of productivity, noting that results remain the only true measure of effort and excellence in service delivery.

The CAC also described the B’Odogwu platform as a necessary step towards a more efficient and modern customs system, adding that it has the potential to boost Nigeria’s status as Africa’s leading economy in terms of trade facilitation.
