Assistant Comptroller General of Customs Charles Orbih, the zonal coordinator of the Nigeria Customs Service Zone A, has charged the newly promoted officers of the zone to continue to uphold the highest standards of service delivery and ethical conduct while ensuring maximum revenue collection
He made the charge at the zonal decoration ceremony for newly promoted Deputy Comptrollers(DCs) and Assistant Comptrollers (ACs) and Comptrollers in the service held at the Customs Training College, Ikeja on 23 January, 2025.
In his opening remarks, ACG Obrih while commending the officers said that as the premier zone of the NCS, Zone A maintains an unprecedented standard in revenue collection, trade facilitation, and anti-smuggling operations.
He added that the newly promoted officers have demonstrated a remarkable proficiency in embracing modern customs procedures and ensuring that high standards are upheld and the dedication shown by these promoted officers in implementing their mandate reflects their readiness for higher obligations and higher responsibilities
He described the ceremony as a testament of the service commitment to excellence and professional growth as they will continue to strive towards a fully modernised and efficient service as the elevation is a reward for their exemplified dedication, unwavering integrity, and outstanding contributions to our nation’s economic security.
ACG Obrih also emphasized that the service has embarked on a transformative journey anchored on three cardinal pillars, which are consolidation of automation processes, digital infrastructure, collaboration with stakeholders and other sister agencies for enhanced trade facilitation. According to him, the innovation in their approach to custom operations and revenue generation has created an environment where excellence thrives, as evidenced by the promotion ceremony .
