Governor Sule, Monarchs Eulogise Attah, Retired Customs Comptroller

Governor Abdullahi Sule of Nasarawa State and others including traditional rulers and top politicians have described Sir Joseph Attah as a worthy citizen of Nigeria who served in the Nigeria Customs Service (NCS) diligently
Speaking in Lafia at a thanksgiving reception for Attah who recently retired from the NCS, the governor said the retired customs officer served Nigeria selflessly and made indelible marks as a customs officer and public relations expert.
Governor Sule, who was represented by the Deputy Governor of the state, Emmanuel Akabe, said Attah made Nasarawa State proud by his sterling performances at work and in the state where, according to him, Attah has always kept touch.
Sule described Attah’s rise in service to the rank of comptroller as a fallout of commitment, loyalty , tenacity and his ever willing disposition to listen to others while strengthening relationships with other people across religious, ethnic and other divides.
Also speaking at the event , Emir of Lafia, Rtd Justice Sidi Bage said Attah is a good example to the younger generations.
The monarch identified Attah’s disposition to maintain smooth relationship with people at home and outside as a great virtue that younger people in service should emulate.
Emir Bage advised Nasarawa indigenous persons in civil and public service to join in making the state great as Attah has done.
The Andoma of Doma, Alhaji Ahmadu Aliyu Ogah eulogised Attah as a great son who is committed to making Nigeria greater.
Andoma praised his ability to interact with different categories of people while showing good example of humility and humane character.
Speaking at the event which featured a thanksgiving mass at St Aloysiuos Catholic Church in Doma and Tazu Hotel in Lafia, Attah attributed the success of his 35 years carrer to God’s grace and support of his family.
He reiterated that his passion for a better country and love for all is undying while promising to continually be of service to the people.
Comptroller Attah who retired as Customs Area Controller of Kebbi Command had served as National Public Relations Officer of NCS.
As spokesman for the service , he won several awards within and outside the country for numerous public relations and crises management feats.
Other guests at the event include former governor Tanko Almakura, Senators, traditional rulers from within and outside Nasarawa, community leaders and youths
