CSR: Shippers’ Council Donates Dental Chair to General Hospital Apapa

The Nigerian Shippers’ Council (NSC) has donated a specialised, adjustable dental chair to General Hospital Apapa, reinforcing its commitment to corporate social responsibility and community development in Apapa.

The equipment was presented by a delegation led by the Director of the Council’s Special Duties Department on behalf of the Executive Secretary/Chief Executive Officer, Akutah Pius.

Speaking during the presentation, the Council’s representative reaffirmed its dedication to initiatives that directly improve the well being of Nigerians, noting that access to quality healthcare is essential to sustainable community growth. He explained that the donation aligns with the Council’s broader objective of fostering positive relationships within its host communities while continuing to regulate and promote efficiency in the maritime sector.

The newly donated dental chair is designed with adjustable and specialized features to improve patient comfort and enhance the efficiency of dental procedures.

Receiving the donation, the Medical Director/Chief Executive Officer of the hospital, Lateefat Omolara Agbaje, expressed appreciation to the Council, describing the gesture as timely and impactful. She noted that the intervention would significantly boost the hospital’s dental unit, expand treatment capacity, and help reduce waiting times for residents of Apapa and neighbouring communities.
