While speaking at a world press conference, he explained that the ill actions of INEC are the remote causes of insecurity in Nigeria due to bad governance .

According to him, INEC activities have made it very difficult for Nigerians to elect credible candidates of their choice during elections and the effects are the consequences of unemployment and other negative vices in the country.

Olaposi insisted that the INEC Chairman, Joash Amupitan may not succeed in INEC working with most of the strategic officials during the retired Mahmoud Yakubu leadership. He lamented that the judiciary is not helping matters as a judge can reverse it’s judgment without any good reason other than financial interest on a matter he no longer has power over as there are two valid court judgments delivered by courts of competent jurisdictions and yet INEC refused to obey it due to corruption.

Speaking further, the NNPP Secretary General reported that the latest at the moment is that the party’s 2023 presidential candidate, Sen. Rabiu Kwankwaso led the Kwankwasiya Movement acting as a political party to write to INEC with the letter head of new NNPP , calling for congresses and Convention .

Olaposi alleged that various illegal activities within INEC , including changes to NNPP’s logo, colors, and leadership records involved financial inducements running into hundreds of millions of naira. He claimed that ₦500 million was allegedly involved in an attempt to influence a judge,
₦1.5 billion in efforts to alter party records at INEC headquarters, ₦200 million to conduct “illegal congresses, and ₦250 million to change the party’s logo and colors.

He stated that it is a verifiable fact that the Chief Judge and judges of the Federal Capital Territory refused to be compromised and the resultant effect were frivolous petitions and blackmail against the Chief Judge and Justice Hassan for dismissing their case for lack of merit.

He called on Amupitan to be vigilant because they have started their process of intimidation, threats, blackmailing and compromise options. He also issued a warning to Labour Party’s 2023 presidential candidate, Peter Obi, urging him not to engage politically with Kwankwaso over alleged moves to use the NNPP platform for the 2027 elections.

“Democracy in Nigeria is under threat again and cannot work if INEC continues to disrespect judicial pronouncements in our country. It is in the public space that over time, INEC has been a major problem in Nigeria’s efforts to enthrone sustainable democratic processes due to systems corruption and disrespect for rule of law .This ungodly act has made it a near impossibility for Nigerians to elect leaders of their choice and the consequences are obvious to the lives and property of Nigerians.

“In other words, the ill actions of INEC have continued to impose candidates on Nigerians unjustifiably. Vote buying in the presence of security agents and INEC officials can never add value to sustainable democracy in Nigeria .It is on record that the retirement of Prof Mahmoud Yakubu became a relief to Nigerians, giving hope that tomorrow shall be better for democracy in Nigeria to succeed. Unfortunately, the hopes of Nigerians may be dashed if nothing is done to relieve most of the commissioners, directors and heads of departments that worked with Yakubu.

“It is so bad our experience in inec, how can one explain that inec changed the logo and colour of a registered political party without sighting the original certificate. It becomes more worrisome that some officials of INEC can go to their residence to hold meetings in support of illegal activities.

“It is most unfortunate that the Kwankwaso led kwankwasiya movement and Dr Ahmed Ajuji led defunct NWC have continued to blackmail and intimidate judges and officials of inec, the coward and greedy ones among them succumb whereas the brave ones refused to be intimidated and stand for justice and fairness.

“At the moment a mandamus application (judicial review) is before a Federal capital Territory High Court against INEC to explain why it refused to obey Court Judgments in our favour . It is regrettable that an unknown INEC Official delivered the judicial review process to Kwankwaso’s unemployed characters and advised them to join in the case as an interested party. They allowed them to join so that the judgment shall be binding on all the parties. Whereas this case is ongoing, the same KWANKWASO in concert with Dr Ahmed Ajuji wrote a letter to INEC, notifying it of its intention to hold congresses and Convention 2025/2026 .What an impunity and disrespect for rule of law.

“Whereas INEC is yet to remove itself from contempt for not obeying court orders, the same INEC is receiving notification from unknown group and outcasts in nnpp for the purposes of congresses and convention .

“The fact remains that after the 2023 general election, Kwankwaso, Galadima and the entire NWC members led by Dr Ahmed Ajuji have been expelled from NNPP for anti party activities and duly confirmed by courts of competent jurisdictions .Any politician dealing with them in the name of NNPP is building on nothing. “,he said.
