
The Maritime Workers Union of Nigeria (MWUN) has announced its 7th Quadrennial National Delegates Conference (NDC).
This was disclosed in a press statement signed by the Union’s President General Comrade Adewale Adeyanju, on 26th March, 2025.
According to Adeyanju, the highly anticipated conference will take place on Friday
28th March, 2025, at Festival Hotels, Amuwo Odofin, Lagos State.
He also said that in a bid to encourage great commitment to work and also reward excellence and dedication, the union will be honoring stakeholders who have contributed greatly to the maritime sector and awards will be given in the various categories.
The letter also disclosed that under the leadership of the outgoing president general ,there will be an official book launch at the conference of the union’s documented history from 1996 till date titled “History of Maritime Workers Union of Nigeria, 1996 To 2024”
Following Comrade Adeyanju’s successful completion of his tenure as the president general, as stipulated in the union’s constitution,there will also be an official handover of leadership to the new elected president general at the national delegate conference to ensure an hitch free continuity of its legacy of service

Awards will be presented in different categories. All award recipients are encouraged to arrive on time to ensure a smooth and successful ceremony.
“ In addition, under the visionary leadership of Comrade (Prince) Dr. Adewale Adeyanju, the union has painstakingly compiled and documented the history of MWUN from 1996 to date in a landmark book titled – HISTORY OF MARITIME WORKERS UNION OF NIGERIA, 1996 TO 2024. This historical publication, the first of its kind in the industry, serves as a vital resource to educate future generations about the union’s journey, struggles, and milestones. The official launching of this book will take place on the same day at the conference venue
