In his Yuletide message, Comrade Bunu urged Christians to remain steadfast, patient and committed to the values of the Christian faith despite the trials, challenges and persecutions confronting them in various parts of the world. He reminded believers that the birth of Jesus Christ represents sacrifice, humility and unwavering commitment to doing good, noting that Christ endured rejection and suffering while on earth because of His mission of love and salvation.

The MWUN PG called on Christians to emulate the exemplary life of Jesus Christ by embracing tolerance, forgiveness, kindness and love for one another. According to him, true Christianity is reflected in “Christ-like” behaviour, stressing that living by these values remains central to faith and service to God. He prayed that Christians would continue to enjoy God’s grace and favour as they pursue a life anchored on righteousness and compassion.

Describing Jesus Christ as the sole reason for the Yuletide season, Comrade Bunu encouraged Christians to demonstrate charity by supporting the needy, vulnerable and less privileged in society through acts of giving, regardless of religion, tribe, colour or background. He emphasized that such gestures reflect the true essence of Christmas and promote peaceful coexistence within communities.

He also commended Christians for their resilience and tolerance amid prevailing security challenges, particularly in parts of northern Nigeria where many families have been displaced. He expressed confidence that God is aware of the sufferings of both Christians and Muslims affected by insecurity, while expressing hope that peace and justice would ultimately prevail through love and mutual understanding.

Comrade Bunu further noted that the Federal Government of Nigeria, under the leadership of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, has the capacity to address the nation’s security challenges. He expressed optimism that with collective prayers and renewed commitment, Nigeria would regain peace and reclaim its status as the “Giant of Africa.”
